With the changes in my daily schedule associated with having a day job again, I need to call into the radio studio to pick up my Tuesday program running sheet and transcribe the promotional, community, and sponsorship announcements onto a minidisk so that I can include them in a prerecorded show that I prepare.

While visiting the station today, Andrew Beale was on the air, and he invited me into the studio for a brief on-air chat. Thanks Andrew. He's included a picture of both of us on his web site.

For today's show I invited Sydney guitarist (and friend) Steve Flack to join me. He came in and we spent pretty well the whole two hours chatting about music, his influences, how he started playing, and listening to some of the music that he enjoys.

It was truly a fun session, and I think it's fair to say that we both enjoyed it very much.

Steve indicated that he is putting together another Guitar Heroes show for early in the new year. I'll ask him to come back in as that show draws closer to fruition, and we can play some more music and chat about that.

November 14: Keys and such

Today's show was based around some of my favourite keyboard players. From Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole and Art Tatum, through Jimmy Smith and Joey De Francesco, to such notables as Lionel Hampton and Gary Burton (vibes), and of course, the one, the only, the owner of the drunken piano, Tom Waits., in two part

I wish somebody would do something about the promos that I am asked to play during the show. Anyone would think that there are but 3 other shows at the station, such is the choice they throw at me.

Here's today's show, in two parts.
