The Big Easy

It’s been way too long since my last visit here. I do love this city.

After checking in to my hotel in the warehouse district, I needed to go and get my jazzfest credentials, and then wander around to the Louisiana Music Factory, which is an indie CD store wih a great collection of local music available.

They also put on performances of local talent, and this time it included Dr Michael White, irvin Mayfield, and Theresa Andersson. T managed to catch all three performances, but for a CD store, it sure was crowded. Must be all those people coming in for Jazzfest.

Speaking of jazzfest … I was most impressed by the building within which their offices live. One of the really nice things about New Orleans is the buildings: the architecture of the old buildings in particular. They talk to … they have stories to tell, and this place was almost regal in its stature.

Another thing about N’Awlins is the food. Walking to the jazzfest offices I could smell it, and boy was it smellin’ good.

Afterwards – after the music, and after a cold Abita, it was down to Cafe Du Monde for a Cafe Au Lait with a plate of beignets. There goes one’s cholesterol count for the week.

It’s great to be back here. I love this place!
